We decided to check out the newly opened Rusty Taco near the San Tan Village Mall yesterday and we were impressed! The concept is easy with the menu filled with a variety of taco options, you can order as many as you’d like.
This location is the first one to open in Arizona. Owner Jake Storms said that he loved Rusty Taco in Minnesota and wanted to bring it to Arizona. He chose a great location for the restaurant – right in the heart of the San Tan Mall area. This area is rapidly growing and the community is hungry for more restaurants.
We arrived around 2:00 p.m. on Saturday and there was a line out of the door. It moved quickly and we were able to check out the menu while we waited.
The staff was super friendly, helpful, and wanted to make sure all of their customers were enjoying their meal and experience.
There is both indoor and outdoor seating as well as a counter area where you can watch the chefs in action.
My family ended up ordering: 2 Bacon & Egg Tacos, 1 Chicken Fajita Taco, 1 Roasted Pork Taco, 1 Baja Shrimp Taco, 1 Rusty Taco, 1 Texican Taco, and 1 Chicken Quesadilla (from the kid’s menu on the back).
It was great to have such a wide variety and everything was delish. The Hubby and I also enjoyed a couple of Modelo Especials and the family shared a couple of orders of the churros.
Rusty Taco also offers happy hour with drink specials Monday – Friday from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Pair your drinks with a couple of tacos and you’ll be set.
We will definitely be back. The service and food were both fantastic. You can read more about Rusty Taco on their website or better yet, check out the first location in Arizona at 1907 E. Williams Field Road in Gilbert, you won’t be disappointed. If you see Jake, tell him The Bubbly Hostess said hello!
