Not many people enjoy Brussels sprouts, but to me, they are delicious! This recipe adds a few more ingredients to the dish to make it a little bit more special to serve at your holiday table. When deciding on what “seasonal nut” to include, I have use chopped pecans or pine nuts in the past, but the choice is yours!

Sautéed Brussels Sprouts with Bacon, Caramelized Onions, and Seasonal Nuts

Adding roasted garlic cloves is a great option for this dish as well.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs. Brussels sprouts, trimmed, any brown leaves removed, and halved
- 1/2 onion, thinly sliced and sautéed until caramelized
- 1 lb. bacon, chopped
- 1/2 cup toasted nuts of your choice (I have used chopped pecans or pine nuts in this dish)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt & pepper
- Olive oil
Instructions
- Add some oil to a large pan (a cast iron pan works great for this) and heat over medium high heat.
- Once hot, add the brussels sprouts, cut side down.
- Let cook, undisturbed for 5-6 minutes.
- After that time has passed, stir the Brussels sprouts.
- Add in garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
- Add in caramelized onions and chopped bacon.
- Add a touch more olive oil and stir to combine.
- Add the nuts, stir to combine.
- Season with salt & pepper, stir to combine.
- Serve immediately.
