Michael David Petite Petit, Petite Sirah

During a recent visit to Atlanta, I enjoyed dinner at Seasons 52 and discovered a delicious red wine – just in time for fall.  I have already made the switch from whites to reds, do you do that as seasons change?

At any rate, as part of the wine list at Seasons 52, their Master Sommelier includes a section called “Drink Them Before They’re Famous” which features up and coming wines available by the glass or the bottle.

I opted for a glass of the Michael David Petite Petit, Petite Sirah (2013) and while our server was showing us to look for the circus-themed label, he saw me taking a photo of that section of the wine menu – I wanted to remember it!  Being the fun gentleman that he was, he suggested I take a selfie with the entire bottle – so I did, you may have seen it on Facebook or Instagram!

Upon my return to Arizona, we headed up to Prescott for the weekend and while stocking up at our local Safeway, low and behold was the circus themed label!  I was thrilled to find this along with reasonable price – only $13.99 a bottle.

This wine is beautiful in color and full of flavor – an easy choice to open for a dinner party or even to enjoy by itself.  While writing this post, I learned that this wine is a blend of 85% Petite Sirah and 15% Petite Verdot.  I love it and am happy my server at Seasons 52 asked me to stop and take a look at the label; I hope you’ll remember this too and grab yourself a bottle to enjoy.  I know I’ll be drinking this again!
