What a refreshing, often forgotten about, cocktail! Perfect for summer! A Chelada is one type of Micheladas – which is basically a Mexican beer with different stuff added! I recently featured a Red Beer which is another type of Michelada (when made with Mexican beer) – but how these are made and what they are called definitely varies by region in Mexico.
Ingredients:
Chelada
Makes 1 drink
1 12 ounce Mexican Beer
1 lime
Salt
Ice
Cut the lime and run the inside of the lime around the rim of a tall glass. Pour some salt onto a small plate and dip the rim of the glass into the salt. Fill the glass with ice, add a pinch of salt, the juice of half of a lime, then fill with beer. You may have some beer leftover, just save that for the next Chelada you make. Quarter the other lime half and add both quarters to your drink.
Enjoy your salty, limey, beer!
